GOLDEN, Colo. - #6 Colorado School of Mines improved to 10-0 with a hot-shooting 94-67 win over South Dakota Mines.
The Orediggers hit a season-best 61.4 percent of their shots led by the post duo of
Ben Clare and
Michael Glen, who combined for 33 points shooting 14-for-16. Clare was phenomenal, sinking 10-of-11 shots for 20 points and grabbing seven boards; Glen recorded his second straight double-double with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.
Luke Schroepfer scored 13 as did
Adam Laine, and
Mason Baker added 12 off the bench. Mines shot 19-of-28 (67.9 percent) in the second half and held a wide 35-19 rebounding margin.
Mines never trailed as they opened the game on an 11-3 run. Clare had 12 of his 20 in the first half as Mines led 44-32 at the break; the decisive run came in the second half as Mines outscored SDSMT 19-7 over a seven-minute span to turn a 10-point lead into 22, and the Oredigged ended the game on a 9-0 run to finish on their largest lead at 27.
The Orediggers stay at home to host MSU Denver Saturday at 3 p.m.
