Natesan Drops 29, #19/21 Mines Cruises Past Chadron

CHADRON, Neb. - #19/21 Colorado School of Mines got out to a big early lead and never looked back, cruising to a 87-57 win at Chadron State.

Gokul Natesan poured in 29 points to lead four Orediggers in double digits. Mines (19-4, 14-3 RMAC) started the game on a 21-2 run and never trailed by less than 20 in the second half. Ben Clare recorded his second career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The damage was done off the start by Mines, opening on an 8-0 run and then tacking on 13 more keyed by a pair of Natesan three-pointers. That set the lead at 21-2 midway through the first half, and Mines made 16-of-28 in the period while holding the Eagles to 21.4 percent shooting.

The second half was more of the same as Mines was keyed by a 13-3 run mid-half, eventually inflating their lead to as much as 32 in the closing minutes.

NOTABLES
- Natesan became the seventh player in program history to surpass 1,800 points, and now stands at 1,808 for his career. He also became the second Oredigger to notch 500 career free throws with his second of the game. Natesan stuffed the stat sheet with four rebounds, three assists, a block, and a steal while shooting 10-of-10 at the line.
- Luke Golter came off the bench to provide career highs in points (12), rebounds (4), and minutes (14). 
- Clare's double-double came a night after he set a career-high with 14 rebounds. He was 6-of-9 from the floor and added a career-high four blocks.
- Murphy Gershman pitched in 12 points, six rebounds, and two steals.
- Mines dominated the boards 46 to 33.
- Chadron State was led by Myles Busby's 14 bench points. The CSC starters were held to a combined 15 points.
- Mines swept the season series from the Eagles.
