PUEBLO, Colo. - A first-half scoring outburst helped Colorado School of Mines cruise past CSU-Pueblo 5-0 in a road win Friday night.
The red-hot Orediggers (5-2, 3-0 RMAC) moved two points clear at the top of the RMAC table with their fifth straight win, having outscored their opponents 9-1 in league play thus far.Â
Mines led 3-0 after only 19 minutes, then added two more goals in the second half as they outshot the Thunderwolves (0-7, 0-3 RMAC) 13-4.
John Haist scored his RMAC-leading seventh and eighth goals of the season, opening from
Nikolaus Grotz's corner at 10' before scoring at 19' after assisting
Trevor Amann's breakaway at 14'.
In the second half, it was
Ryan Wilson scoring his second of the year from
Jackson Shelledy in the 59th minute, and
Ford Edwards capped the rout with an 85th-minute strike from
George Marchant's first career assist.
Collin Hall and
Josh Clark combined for Mines' second consecutive shutout, with Hall making two saves in 84:02 of work and Clark not being tested in relief.
The Orediggers visit UCCS on Sunday.
