RAPID CITY, S.D. - #23 Colorado School of Mines cruised to a 3-0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-18) win at South Dakota Mines on Saturday to improve to 6-0 in RMAC play.
The Orediggers (12-3) stretched their win streak to six straight matches as freshman
Michelle Rugh had a career match with 10 kills.
LaRose Currie dug out 22 balls, with
Marina Hansen providing 32 assists and three aces.
Lindsey Jin and
Abby Tiesman each had eight kills while
Madeline Behr and
Janice Jin added even each. The Mines defense held the Hardrockers (1-14, 0-6 RMAC) to just .069 hitting.Â
The Orediggers had to bounce back from a 9-2 deficit early in set #1, not catching up to the hosts until a 4-0 run made it 20-18 on the way to their 25-22 win. Mines then cruised in the second set, 25-13, hitting .325 while holding SDSMT to .045, and got out to a big lead in the third to never trail winning 25-18.
Mines stays on the road next weekend, visiting Fort Lewis Oct. 6 and Adams State Oct. 7.
