GUNNISON, Colo. - #15 Western State earned bonus points in six bouts as they beat Colorado School of Mines 34-9 in an RMAC dual Friday night.

The Orediggers (7-1) had their perfect start to the season snapped as they made several changes to their starting lineup against the Mountaineers (9-3) compared to last weekend's four dual wins.

Jake Feldman and Jake Woods picked up the points for Mines to win two of the final three matches. Feldman won a high-scoring match against Samuel DeSeriere at 285 pounds; after a 2-1 first period, Feldman picked up two escapes and a takedown in the second, then took a big lead on a four-point tilt to start the third and adding two more takedowns to finish 16-11. At 133 pounds, Woods earned two first-period takedowns to lead 4-2 after one, then escaped in the second and took down Colby Duncan to his back for a pin at 4:20.

While Western State took the other eight weight classes, there were still positives to be taken for Mines. Zachary Gracia wrestled a tough defensive match at 125 pounds against #11 Trenton Piatt in a 3-1 loss decided by Piatt's second-period takedown; Noah Ottum wrestled tough at 149 against Justin Chenoweth before a decisive reversal and takedown in the third period gave Chenoweth a 12-8 win.

NOTABLES
- Woods' win was his team-leading 18th of the season. The sophomore is 18-4 and 4-1 in duals.
- Feldman improved to 11-5.
- Mines' seven-match win streak was its longest in the NCAA era dating back to 1992.
- The Orediggers held out several of last weekend's starters, most notably #10 Keenan Willits at 165 (where Ethan Ruby bumped up from 157), unbeaten TJ Shelton at 174, and Weston Hunt at 285.
