GOLDEN, Colo. – A tough CSU-Pueblo team held off Colorado School of Mines in a 63-50 decision Saturday night in RMAC women's basketball action.
The Orediggers (11-7, 8-4 RMAC) answered virtually every Thunderwolves (13-6, 11-2 RMAC) basket in the second half, but it was a 12-4 run by the visitors wrapped around the end of the first and start of the second quarters that proved decisive.
Emily Bailey drained a game-high 23 to lead the Orediggers, shooting 8-for-14.
Mikaela Moore had eight points and as many rebounds off the bench. Tuileisu Anderson led CSU-Pueblo with 18 points.
Leading 32-27 at the half, Pueblo started the third quarter on a 6-0 run to balloon their lead to 11, but Mines answered back with their own 6-0 run to get as close as five, 40-35, late in the third. That would be as close as Mines would get the rest of the game, as the Thunderwolves slowly built their lead with hot shooting to hold off the Orediggers.
