Mines Athletics, in collaboration with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), developed a robust community outreach program in February of 2017, a program that will be recognized and honored by the Golden Chamber of Commerce at the 2018 Annual Awards on Wednesday, February 7.  The outreach program has been selected as the winner of the 2018 Chairman's Award, presented to either an individual, group, or business, who provided exceptional service and support of their community.

The Golden Chamber's Annual Awards is a celebration in recognition of people and businesses that have demonstrated unique vision, innovation, and achievement in support of Greater Golden's economy, business community, and quality of life.  For more information, the full list of award winners, or to register for the event, click here. 

Mines Athletics and the SAAC is proud to be involved with a number of community outreach initiatives with both local and national organizations including: the Golden Chamber of Commerce (Golden Chili Cook-Off, Olde Golden Christmas Parades, Taste of Golden, and Farmers Markets; Food Fight (benefiting the Golden Christian Action Guild); We Bust Ours Fundraiser (benefiting the Make-a-Wish Foundation); Special Olympics Colorado; and Team Impact.
