Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-America Teams
GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines women's soccer senior
Jennifer Kendall has been selected as a Google Cloud/CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American for her outstanding combination of athletic and academic achievement.
Kendall, a mechanical engineering major with a 3.996 GPA, was Mines' leader on the field this season, earning First-Team All-Region, First-Team All-RMAC, and RMAC Tournament MVP honors. Her dozen goals led the squad, and she finished the season having scored in five of Mines' last seven matches, including four goals in the RMAC Tournament. Her five game-winners were also a team high. Kendall was a RMAC First-Team All-Academic selection this season, and in 2017 was also selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team. Kendall ended her career among Mines' leaders in multiple categories, including goals (23, 4th), points (53, 5th), and game-winning goals (10, 4th).
Kendall joins two elite clubs with her award: first, she is one of three players to be a repeat Academic All-American, joining Anna Evans (2012-13) and Megan Woodworth (2010-2012); and second, she is one of only three first-team selections in program history, joining former teammate
Devon Dunmire (2017) and Woodworth (2011-2012). She earns the 11th Academic All-America award in Mines women's soccer history, and was one of three first-team selections from the RMAC, joining Dixie State's Nichole Mertz and UCCS' Anna Gregg.
To be eligible for Academic All-America, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or above and carry at least a 3.3 GPA while being a starter or significant reserve for their team.
