2018 Academic All-District Teams

GOLDEN, Colo. -
Colorado School of Mines women's soccer student-athletes Jennifer Kendall and Nicole LaTourette have been named to the Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-District team.

The duo were honored for their combination of outstanding academic and athletic achievement during the 2018 season. It is Kendall's second consecutive season being honored, and the first selection for LaTourette.

Kendall, a senior mechanical engineering major with a 3.996 GPA, has been Mines' leader on the field this season, earning First-Team All-RMAC and RMAC Tournament MVP honors. Her dozen goals leads the squad, and she enters the NCAA Tournament having scored in five of Mines' last six matches, including four goals in the RMAC Tournament. Her five game-winners are also a team high. Kendall was a RMAC First-Team All-Academic selection this season, and in 2017 was also selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team.

LaTourette, a junior mechanical engineering major with a 3.69 GPA, has also been an offensive leader for Mines, scoring seven goals with two assists from the midfield wing. LaTourette has scored six of her seven goals as a substitute, providing the Orediggers with a dangerous option off the bench. She also has three gamewinners this season. LaTourette was a First-Team All-RMAC and RMAC Academic Honor Roll selection.

To be eligible for Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or above and carry at least a 3.3 GPA while being a starter or significant reserve for their team. Academic All-District selections go on to the ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
