COLORADO SPRINGS - Colorado School of Mines guard Zach Rusk has been named the RMAC Summit Award winner in men's basketball.

The Summit Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average (GPA) participating at the final sites for each of the RMAC's championships. The student-athlete must also be an active member of the team, traveling and competing at the RMAC Championship.

Rusk is a senior chemical & biochemical engineering major with a 3.818 GPA. He is the second straight Oredigger to earn the honor after Gokul Natesan in 2017. This season, Rusk has been a key bench presence for Mines, appearing in all 29 games with three starts and averaging 4.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. He has been especially productive down the stretch run while helping Mines to the RMAC Tournament semis, averaging 10.3 points, 4.6 assists, and 2.3 assists per game over the last three outings, including a season-high 16 points at MSU Denver last Saturday.

The Orediggers (22-7) will face off against Regis Friday at 5 p.m. in the RMAC Tournament semifinals at Fort Lewis.
