THIS WEEK
The Orediggers remain in the thick of the RMAC postseason hunt as they visit Colorado Christian on Tuesday night and South Dakota School of Mines and Technology on Saturday. With six games left to play, Mines sits in sixth in place in the RMAC standings, with the top eight making the RMAC Tournament (excluding Westminster, which is in its final year of transition to D-II and is not postseason eligible). The Orediggers are 10-6 in conference play, a half-game back of Adams State and a game behind Regis; the good news is there is a significant gulf between Mines and seventh place, where New Mexico Highlands, Black Hills State, and UCCS sit at 8-9. Colorado Christian is next to last at 3-13, with SDSMT a half-game ahead of them at 4-13.

EARLIER THIS SEASON
Mines and CCU met just two weeks ago in Golden, with the Orediggers pulling out an 86-71 win. Mines outrebounded the Cougars by a 41-22 margin and were led by Michael Glen's double-double, Ben Sonnefeld's 20 points, and Luke Schroepfer's 17. The Orediggers cruised past SDSMT 94-67 back on Dec. 9, their highest point total of the season, shooting 61.4 percent as Glen had a 13-point, 11-rebound, five-assist effort and Schroepfer and Adam Laine added 13.

DOUGLAS RAMPS IT UP
Duke Douglas has been a spark for Mines in the second half of the season, ratcheting up his production over the last seven games. Douglas is averaging 11.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game in that span, and has perhaps been Mines' most efficient offensive player shooting an impressive 64.2 percent.

SONNEFELD, SCHROEPFER MOVING UP
With 282 career assists, redshirt junior Ben Sonnefeld keeps moving up the Mines career assists list. He surpassed Brett Green for sixth all-time at Mines with seven dimes against Chadron State. Meanwhile, Luke Schroepfer took sole possession of fifth place on the career three-pointer list as he sank four against Chadron State to take his total to 216.
