LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Senior guard
Emily Bailey surpassed 1,000 points for her career Tuesday with a 12-point performance against CCU as the Colorado School of Mines Women's Basketball team defeated the Cougars 60-44 inside the CCU Events Center.
Bailey surpassed the milestone with a 3-point basket at the 8:19 mark of the second quarter. It was her only basket from long range as the senior went on to score seven more points while grabbing three rebounds.
Nicole Archambeau recorded a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double and
Anna Kollmorgen led all scorers with 13 points.
Mines (15-8, 12-5 RMAC) never trailed the Cougars (6-16, 4-13 RMAC), jumping out to an 8-2 lead early in the first quarter. The Orediggers extended their lead to as many as 18 points in the fourth quarter. CCU managed to tie the game twice but could not find the lead.
NOTABLES
- Bailey now has 1,009-career points. She is the eighth Oredigger in program history to score 1,000 in her career.
- The last Oredigger to score 1,000 points was
Laura Tyree (2013-17).
- Mines is now 33-23 in the all-time series with Colorado Christian and have won five of the last six meetings.
- Archambeau's double-double Tuesday was her eighth of the season. Her last double-double was against CCU Jan. 23 inside Lockridge Arena.
- Kollmorgen has scored in double digits 11 times this season. Her last double-digit performance was 19 points against CCU Jan. 23.
- Head Coach
Brittany Simpson is 92-74 in six seasons at Mines.
