HOW IT HAPPENED
The match was all Orediggers from beginning to end as Haist started the scoring early, in the fifth minute of play. Wilson played a pass into open space just outside the penalty area as Haist dribbled in and finished on the near side, close range.
Haist struck again in the 28th minute. The senior had the ball on the end line and was nearly dragged down, earning the penalty-kick opportunity. Haist buried the chance to the left side as the CCU goalkeeper dove the opposite direction.
Mines extended its lead in the 41st minute thanks to van Loveren's tally. A flurry of offense featuring shots from Semelsberger and van Loveren with two saves by the Cougars resulted in van Loveren knocking in his own rebound to make it 3-0, Orediggers.
Haist capped off his hat-trick and Mines' scoring in the 56th minute, dribbling the ball up the left side of the penalty area with a defender on his shoulder and going nearside on the CCU goalkeeper. The Orediggers added multiple shots in the final 25 minutes but could not finish as they coasted to victory.
