GOLDEN, Colo. - Another fast start by #9 Colorado School of Mines helped them stay perfect in RMAC play, dominating CSU-Pueblo 5-1 on Friday.
Mickey Hostetler scored the fastest goal in program history 50 seconds into the game to spark a three-goal first half as
Kaylee Kennedy scored in the third minute and
Eliot Edwards added another later in the half.
Colleen Tyrrell and
Hannah Rowan added second-half scores as Mines (7-1-0, 3-0-0 RMAC) outshot the Thunderwolves (2-5, 1-2 RMAC) by a 33-6 margin.
Hostetler got Mines off to a dream start when she scored her first career goal 50 seconds in. The outside back lifted a ball into the box that no one touched as it bounced past the goalkeeper and in. Kennedy scored at 2:45 off a fine one-time finish from Zimmerman's cross, and Edwards blasted home her goal from
Karolina Sidebaeck's cross at 31:17.
Tyrrell's goal was a rocket from 30 yards that bounced off the bottom of the crossbar and over the line in the 55th minute, and a run from the back by
Giselle Sawaged led to a cross and finish by Rowan in the 80th minute. The Thunderwolves' lone goal came 20 seconds after Tyrrell's when a mishandled gross was collected and put back by Madison Jepperson.
