GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines dominated every phase of the game they won going away over Adams State, 90-64, at Lockridge Arena on Friday.
The Orediggers (10-5, 6-2 RMAC) outrebounded the Grizzlies (5-9, 3-5 RMAC) 45-26 and shot .509 overall led by
Brendan Sullivan's 21 points. A 20-4 run to end the first half turned a tie game into a 44-30 lead.
Sullivan shot 8-for-12, including 3-for-5 from the outside, to score his 21 while
Mason Baker had 15 points, seven rebounds, and four assists and
Michael Glen scored 11 with seven boards.
Paul O'Leary notched new career highs in both points (13) and rebounds (7) off the bench.
It was a close opening 10 minutes before Mines' size advantage began to assert itself as Sullivan and O'Leary combined for 10 of Mines' 20 points to close the half. That run blew a 26-26 game open at 44-30, and a 15-4 run midway through the second half ended any hopes the Grizzlies had of mounting a comeback, with Mines up 76-52 after O'Leary's layup at the 7:11 mark.
