WOOD PICKS UP ANOTHER RMAC HONOR
On Wednesday, Mia Wood was named the RMAC Swimmer of the Week for the third time this season after she won three events in the Colorado Mesa/Dixie State meet. Wood is undefeated this season in the 500- and 1000- freestyle distances. Wood has already punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships with an automatic qualifying time in the 500-free at the A3 Performance Invitational swimming an altitude-adjusted time of 4:46.11, which is the fastest in the nation this season. Wood also holds top-10 altitude-adjusted NCAA B times in the 200-free (1:49.63, 4th), 1000-free (10:00.38, 2nd), and 1650-free (16:39.77, 3rd).

TOP TIMES REPORT
In addition to Wood's times, the Orediggers have swimmers all over the NCAA Division II top-25 performance list as of this week. For the men, Charles Burroughs ranks #9 nationally in the 200-fly at 1:48.17, and Henry Oberley owns D-II's #18 1000-free time at 9:23.43 and #19 1650-free time of 15:47.11. Jerry Birnbaum ranks #25 in the 50-back (23.03), while Peyton Scherschel is #17 in the 100-breast (54.96) and Migus Wong is #21 in the 200-breast (2:01.54). For the women, Meghan Slowey joins Wood on the 1650-free national list with the #25 time of 17:17.60, Daphne Williams is #18 in the 100-fly (55.53), and April Wood is #20 in the 400-IM (4:25.27)

RECORD-SETTERS
The Orediggers have snapped 11 program records this season, and two more fell in the CMU/DSU meet on Saturday. Both the men's and women's 100-IM records were reset as Peyton Scherschel broke his own time of 52.17, and Madeleine Oakley beat Daphne Williams' record with a 1:01.36. The mark gives Oakley all three Mines IM records as she set both the 200- and 400- marks at RMAC Championships last year. The 100-IM has been allowed in college swimming since 2015.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Orediggers will head into training for the RMAC Championships, which begin Feb. 12 in Grand Junction. NCAA Championships will be March 11-14 in Geneva, Ohio.
