Betts, Means Sweep RMAC Weekly Awards

GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines guard Kobi Betts and center Austin Means have been named the RMAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

It is the first career weekly conference award for each. The pair helped #13/24 Mines in an 82-48 win at MSU Denver on Saturday to open the season.

Betts led Mines' offensive outburst with 18 points (16 in the first half) including a 3-for-5 night from three and 7-for-8 night at the line. He added two steals, two assists, and three rebounds, and hit a buzzerbeater three heading into halftime. His 4-for-6 overall shooting night helped Mines shoot .636 for the game, their best team shooting performance in five years.

Means recorded three blocks in the game, helping hold the Roadrunners to just .295 shooting for the game and hold them under 50 points. Means was a team-best +67.12 per 40, and +29 overall as he added three rebounds and five points to his night.
