SPEARFISH, S.D. - Colorado School of Mines raced out to a fast start and never stepped off the gas as they defeated Black Hills State 4-0 on Friday.
The Orediggers (6-1-2, 3-0-0 RMAC) dominated the game with a 22-6 shots advantage over the Yellow Jackets (2-4-0, 1-2-0 RMAC).

Mines wasted no time getting to work with an early
Reese McDermott breakaway hitting the right post, but she made sure to be on target in the ninth minute with a 25-blast through traffic to take a 1-0 lead.
Hannah Rowan doubled the lead in the 19th minute, receiving a pass outside the box from McDermott and then rounding the corner on a defender to finish to the far post.
Landry Corbett's long throw in the 22nd minute resulted in an own goal against the Yellow Jackets after the ball went off a defender in the box, capping the three-goal outburst in the first half.
The Orediggers continued to generate chances in the second half but didn't break through until McDermott beat a defender and the goalkeeper on the run to make it 4-0 in the 63rd minute.
AK Ford nearly made it five when her close-range shot on a corner was cleared off the line by a defender in the 80th minute, and
Taylor Klone forced a diving save in the final minute.

- McDermott scored her second and third goals of the season. Rowan's tally was her second of the fall.
- It was the second time in as many weeks that a Corbett long throw resulted in a goal. She also assisted a McDermott goal in the season opener.

Dani vonLembke (13 minutes) combined in the shutout, the Orediggers' sixth of the season. Roth made two saves. Makayla Dannelly stopped six for the Yellow Jackets.
- The Orediggers stretched their RMAC unbeaten streak to 12 consecutive matches dating back to the fall 2019 season.
- Mines improved to 6-0 all-time against the Yellow Jackets.
