INDIANAPOLIS - Colorado School of Mines is headed back to the NCAA Tournament for the 13th consecutive season, and they won't have to go far.
The Orediggers (12-4-4) earned the third seed in the South Central region and will play Midwestern State in the first round at UCCS on Friday. The winner will take on the host and second-seeded Mountain Lions in the second round on Sunday. Both matches will be at 1 p.m.
On the other side of the bracket, Angelo State takes on Westminster in the first round, with the winner playing host and regional #1 seed Dallas Baptist in the second round.
Mines has played both of its pods' teams this year. The Orediggers beat Midwestern State in Texas 2-0 on Sept. 10 on goals by
AK Ford and
Lauren Clingman; Mines is also 1-1 against UCCS, winning at home 2-1 on Oct. 17 thanks to goals from
Emi Higgins and
Landry Corbett, but falling 1-0 in Colorado Springs last week in the RMAC Tournament semis.
