RMAC Tournament Run Halted by CSU Pueblo

GOLDEN, Colo. – The top-seeded Colorado School of Mines Men's Soccer team saw its 2021 RMAC Tournament come to a close on Sunday evening by a way of a 2-0 loss at the hands of CSU Pueblo.

Mines (14-4-1) produced 17 total shots led by Michael Sprauer's three attempts. Tristan Semelsberger, George Marchant, Lucas King, Joe George, and Andres Ocampo each notched two shots apiece. Only Sprauer, Semelsberger, King and Baptiste Debuire managed to put a shot on goal. Goalkeeper Brian Doherty (8-2-1) racked up five saves over the course of 90 minutes, but surrendered both goals and took the loss.

Both of the goals for CSU Pueblo (14-4-2) were scored by Vinzent Zingel. He struck in the first minute off a throw-in and again in the 52nd minute on a free kick. Neither tally was assisted. ThunderWolves' goalkeeper Garret Wild (12-3-2) recorded four saves and 90 minutes of action to get the victory. The visitors earned the victory despite playing a man down after a red card was issued late in the first half.
