Sprauer's OT Goal Gives #14 Mines Win At ASU

ALAMOSA, Colo. - #14 Colorado School of Mines scored late in regulation before Michael Sprauer's golden goal rescued them with three points in overtime as they beat Adams State 2-1.

Seven days after facing the Grizzlies (0-3-0, 0-3-0 RMAC) in Golden in a 1-0 win, the Orediggers (2-0-0, 2-0-0 RMAC) had to find late magic thanks to Greyson Adams' 83rd-minute strike to force extra time. Mines outshot ASU 18-4.

After the first half was left wanting for offense, Adams State got on the board against the run of play in the 54th minute when Benjiman Rogers scored on the Grizzlies' second shot of the game for a 1-0 lead. Mines pounded the Grizzly defense with seven shots over the next half-hour but did not break through until a corner kick in the 83rd minute paid off with Greyson Adams' second goal of the season to send the game to overtime.

In the extra frame, neither team took a shot until Azad Iliozer created the opportunity for Sprauer at 93:56, and Sprauer's finish ensured Mines left Alamosa with three points.
