Second-Half Goals Lift #21 Mines Over MSU Texas

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Second-half goals by AK Ford and Lauren Clingman carried #21 Colorado School of Mines to a 2-0 win at Midwestern State Friday night.

The Orediggers (2-0-1) notched yet another shutout as they have yet to concede a goal this season. Sierra Roth made four saves in keeping the clean sheet.

Scoring chances were at a premium in the first half, but Mines got things going in the second with an early corner and a shot on goal by Alegra Aguayo. A few minutes later, Ford put the Orediggers ahead with her first goal of the season, coming in the 58th minute.

The Orediggers continued pressing and found the insurance goal in the 80th minute when Clingman fired in her first collegiate goal to put the game out of reach; Midwestern State did not have a shot after that, while Mines had a pair of late corners and a shot by Emma Peterson.
