Orser Sets Wins Mark As Mines Routs Westminster

GOLDEN, Colo. - Pryor Orser became the all-time winningest coach in Colorado School of Mines history as his Orediggers routed Westminster 88-48 for their third straight victory.

Mines (8-7, 6-5 RMAC) left little drama in the game as they blew out the Griffins (8-10, 6-6 RMAC) led by Adam Krasovec's double-double and another hot team shooting night.

But the evening belonged to Orser, who recorded his 387th career victory in his 21st season to surpass the coaching wins record held by Jim Darden, who caoched at Mines from 1954 to 1992. Orser is now 387-208 overall since arriving in Golden in the 2001-02 season.

Krasovec, despite playing only 18 minutes saddled by foul trouble, put together a career-high 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting and added 10 rebounds for second career double-double. Trent Dykema pitched in 11 points off the bench as Brendan Sullivan had 11 points and six boards and Ben Boone nearly had his own double-double with 10 points and a career-high nine assists.

Mines shot .531 for the game and .571 in the second half, including 11-of-25 for three as they held Westminster to .340 overall and 48 points. The Griffins' Reme Torbert was their only player in double figures with 10 points.

The Orediggers led wire-to-wire, quickly building a double-digit lead in the first half to lead 39-27 at the break. The pace accelerated in the second as Mines outscored the Griffins 49-21, hitting an early 11-0 run to blow the game open as Kobi Betts scored seven of his nine points in the game early in the period. There were plenty of minutes for the bench as 10 different Orediggers scored in the game.

NOTABLES
- Mines led 33-21 on rebounds and made the most of 10 offensive boards to produce 16 second-chance points.
- Krasovec wasn't the only Oredigger with a career scoring high as Grant Pressly had six points in a career-high 16 minutes off the bench.
- A night after powering Mines in their win over Colorado Mesa, Kai Barr had another productive game with nine points, six rebounds, and two assists in 17 minutes.
- The win marked the third straight game and sixth time this season that Mines has held their opponent to 60 or fewer points. The Orediggers own the RMAC's best defense at 64.3 points per game allowed.
