SEASIDE, Calif. - Colorado School of Mines battled its way through the first 36 holes Monday at the Otter Invitational at Bayonet GC, hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay.
Playing in a loaded field that features 14 teams ranked in the Golfstat computer rankings' top 35, the Orediggers are the top unranked team in the standings in 15th at +31 on team rounds of 303 and 304. Barry is the only team under par to lead the field at -7, nine strokes ahead of the hosts.
Freshman
Carter Lolli leads the way individually, sitting T33 at +4 on dual rounds of 74. Lolli had a red-hot start to his day going out four-under in his first round before giving back his gains, then reversed it in the afternoon rebounding from a +4 front side by coming home two-under.
Lukas Taggart is two shots behind him in T47 (+6) after carding 75 and 75, while
Ethan Adam shot a morning 73 before carding 79 to be T61 at +8.
Lucas Schulte rebounded from his morning 81 to shoot 76 after lunch and is now T82 (+13), and
Theodore Reitter is the non-scorer at T92 (+20) after two rounds of 82.
CSUMB's Simon Bjorken leads the individual field at -8, with Barry's Nicolas Quintero a stroke behind him.
The third and final round begins Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. Pacific.
