Lukas Taggart's four-under 68 rocketed him up the leaderboard for a top-20 finish to lead Colorado School of Mines at the Otter Invitational at Bayonet GC.
Taggart shot a career-low 68 - tied for Mines' low round of the season - to vault up 32 spots to finish T15 at +2 overall. Taggart scattered six birdies through his day keyed by three in a row on 5, 6, and 7. It's Taggart's second top-20 finish of the fall.
As a team, the Orediggers remained in 14th place tied with Chico State at +34, shooting 291 to shave 12 strokes off yesterday's best team round. Barry won the tournament at -8 with Cal State Monterey Bay and Sonoma State tying for second at +3.
Carter Lolli wrapped up a solid performance as Mines' second man on the leaderboard with a one-over 73 to be T26 (+5); the freshman was three-over through 14 holes before hitting three straight birdies on the way in.
Ethan Adam carded a 75 to end up T53 (+11), and
Theodore Reitter got into the scoring with his best round of the week, 74, to finish T86 (+22).
Lucas Schulte's 77 was the non-scoring round as he finished in 80th (+18).
CSUMB's Simon Bjorken extended his 36-hole lead to win medalist honors at -11 ahead of Barry's Nicolas Quintero (-8).
The tournament wrapped up Mines' fall season, and their spring slate will be announced later this semester.
