Semelsberger Pushes Mines Past MSU Denver

DENVER - Tristan Semelsberger scored for the fourth consecutive match to push Colorado School of Mines past MSU Denver, 1-0.

The Orediggers (7-3-2, 4-0-0 RMAC) remained atop the table in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with their fourth win in as many outings.

The Roadrunners (8-2-2, 4-1-1 RMAC) suffered their first conference loss and just their second overall this season as Mines dominated the proceedings with a 24-4 shots lead, holding the hosts without an offensive chance in the first half.

Mines tested the Roadrunners early and often but goalkeeper Ross Miller kept it scoreless through 45 minutes with four first-half saves. The Orediggers led 8-0 on first-half shots.

The breakthrough Mines needed came in the 58th minute. A build-up from their own half resulted in the ball coming to Chris Seery, who found Semelsberger on the right wing for a tight-angle finish and the lead. The guests continued to pepper goal with chances as they generated 16 second-half shots, but Semelsberger's goal held up as the match's lone strike.
