ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Swimming teams swept a pair of duals against Adams State on Friday night and Saturday morning while the men broke four Plachy Hall Pool records.

Mines' women outscored the Grizzlies 166-34 on Friday night in a traditional dual format. The Oredigger men followed suit with a dominant, 184-18 victory. Saturday morning featured a pair of non-traditional, relay duals intended to showcase different individual skillsets in a different, fun format. Both Mines' men and women earned convincing wins in those matchups as well. There were a total of 38 events competed in less than 24 hours and the Oredigger men and women took first place in all but one race.

All four pool records fell on Friday night. Garrett Waite broke the Plachy Hall Pool record in the 200-IM, touching in 1:59.96 to take first. Ronan Lauinger joined the fun in the 200-back thanks to his time of 1:58.53 which was also good for first place. Michael Kietzman rounded out the individual pool records with a 4:57.26 in the 500-free as he took first place as well. Mines' 400-free relay made up of Seth Krause, Gavin Moore, Joe Peak, and Waite swam 3:14.20 to break that pool record.

Lauinger and Kietzman, along with Jakson Winn, provided additional individual men's highlights on Friday night. Not only did Lauinger win the 200-back and break the pool record, he also won the 1000-free in 10:33.67, finished second in the 200-IM with a time of 2:00.10, and won the 200-breast thanks to a 2:13.81 clip. Kietzman flexed his range by adding a 50-free to his record-breaking 500-free. His sprint time came in at 21.09, and he also took part in the 400-medley relay. Winn took part in four events. He finished second in the 50-free with a 21.25, and also took second in the 200-back by touching in 1:58.97. Winn joined Kietzman on the 400-medley relay and helped the second-place 400-freestyle relay as well.

On the women's side, Olivia Kisow and Annie Osmun stood out on Friday night. Kisow racked up a win in the 50-free, a second-place finish in the 200-back, and competed on the 400-freestyle relay as well. Her first-place finish in the 50-free came in 25.67, and she touched in 2:19.76 in the 200-back. Osmun walked away with three first-place finishes and an appearance in the second-place, 400-freestyle relay. She won the 200-free with a time of 2:01.89, the 200-fly in 2:19.15, and the 200-breast in 2:34.63. She joined Cameryn Schmidt, Kerrigan Hemp, and Kylie VanderMeer to touch in 3:56.04 in the relay.

As stated above, Saturday morning's event was focused on fun, friendly competition with a series of non-traditional relays. That being said, the 200-medley relay and the 200-freestyle relay are both competed at the NCAA Championships. In the women's 200-medley relay, Emi Jedryka, Kisow, Osmun and Schmidt turned in a 1:52.20 to finish first. The men's medley relay included Winn, Waite, Krause and Moore who teamed up to swim 1:35.64 in the win. That event started the day, and the 200-freestyle relays ended the day. Sophia Buhr, Jordan Tierney, Maggie Wells, and Emma Neuroth won it for the women on a 1:44.06 pace. Winn, Kietzman, Moore, and Braden Hunt took first for the men in 1:26.29.
