GREENSBORO, N.C.
- Meghan Slowey's all-America finish in the 1,000-freestyle highlighted the first day of the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships for Colorado School of Mines.

Slowey became the 10th women's individual all-American in program history, finishing 12th in the 1,000 in a time of 10:12.61 to earn Second-Team All-America status. Slowey, making her second consecutive NCAA appearance, will also swim the 500-free and 1650-free later this week.

The men's 200-freestyle relay doubled up on records as it turned in a 1:20.95 time for 17th place. The first men's relay to appear at NCAAs since 2017, the group of Harry Smith, Braden Hunt, Seth Krause, and Garrett Waite improved on their own time of 1:21.15 set at RMAC Championships in February for the relay record, and Smith's lead-off leg of 20.44 shaved a hundreth off his program 50-free record set at the 2021 A3 Performance Invite. Krause had the fastest split of the group at 19.83 seconds as Waite anchored in 20.04 to help Mines finish fourth in their heat.

Charles Burroughs began his three-event program with the 200-IM on Wednesday morning, finishing 40th in 1:51.77. He will swim his specialties, the 100- and 200-fly, over the next two days.

The meet continues Thursday with Burroughs in the 100-fly and Ronan Lauinger swimming the 400-IM.
