Renata Boyd and
Sidney Wilson lead eight Colorado School of Mines honorees on the 2022 RMAC All-Academic Teams announced Thursday.
Both Boyd and Wilson were selected as RMAC First-Team All-Academic for their outstanding combination of work in the classroom and on the field this season. In addition to Boyd and Wilson's first-team selections, six Orediggers were named to the RMAC Academic Honor Roll for having GPAs of 3.3 or above as sophomores or above:
Lauren Decker,
Sara Larson,
Sadriena Rodriguez,
Grace Gonzales,
Kayleigh Krueger, and
Kailey Robb.
Boyd, a computer science major, has produced a team-best 25 runs out of the leadoff spot hitting .338 with 13 RBI and five extra-base hits. The junior has 40 starts in the outfield and leads the team with 15 stolen bases.
Wilson, a chemical & biological engineering major, has started 40 times at shortstop this season and leads Mines with a .393 batting average and .963 OPS. The sophomore has driven in 23 RBI with nine doubles and 21 runs scored, and is one of the RMAC's toughest outs this year striking out just five times in 117 at-bats.
To be eligible, all student-athletes must be sophomores or above and have a 3.3 or higher GPA; first-team selections are voted on by the RMAC's sports information directors to recognize their outstanding combination of athletic and academic achievement.
