ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -
Ethan Adam and Lukas Taggart notched career-low rounds to lead Colorado School of Mines through the first 36 holes at the Sonoma State Regional Preview at Foxtail GC in California.

The Orediggers rebounded from a tough morning to go eight shots lower in the afternoon, carding team rounds of 298 and 290 to sit in 10th at +12, still within striking distance of the top half of the leaderboard. Western New Mexico leads at -13 followed by Cal State East Bay and Oklahoma Christian at -6.

Freshman Lukas Taggart put together two terrific rounds of 70 and 72 to be Mines' highest individual on the leaderboard in T11 (-2); Taggart marked down five birdies in his career-best two-under first round and then generated 14 pars in his second round to stay at -2. Ethan Adam surged with a career-low 69 in the afternoon to rise to T20 on the leaderboard. Adam put aside his morning 75 to hole five birdies in round two for the Orediggers' low round of the day.

Max Lange recovered from a 77 in his first round to shoot a one-under 71 and rise to T37 (+4), and Theodore Reitter is the Orediggers' fourth scorer with rounds of 76-78 to be T60 at +10. Owen Cornmesser was the non-counter in both rounds with a pair of 81s, putting him in 66th at +18.

Holy Name's Edvin Backstrom is the leader by three shots at -12, with Oklahoma Christian's Alejandro Armijo next at -9 after both shot opening-round 65s.
