2023 Baseball Schedule

GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines Baseball team unveiled its complete 2023 schedule on Wednesday afternoon, exactly one month before opening day.

Mines' 2023 slate features a total of 49 games with 21 home contests, 17 non-conference games, and 32 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference showdowns. The Orediggers open their campaign with a four-game series at Cal Poly Pomona starting Friday, Feb. 10, in California. Their home opener will be a non-RMAC affair against MSU Denver on Saturday, March 4. Conference play begins Friday, March 10, on the road at Colorado Christian. Mines opens the home portion of its conference schedule on Friday, March 17, against Colorado Mesa.

Currently, two of the Orediggers' 2023 opponents are nationally ranked including Cal Poly Pomona at #21 and Colorado Mesa at #15. The rest of Mines' non-conference schedule includes a four-game set at Cal State L.A. running Feb. 17-19, a Tuesday doubleheader at NCAA Division I Northern Colorado on Feb. 21, non-RMAC contests against CSU Pueblo, Regis and Colorado Christian the weekend of March 3-5, and three other midweek games against Northern Colorado on April 11, April 19, and April 25.

Teams coming to play at Jim Darden Field in Golden, Colo., include MSU Denver (March 4, April 28-30), Regis (March 5, April 14-16), Colorado Christian (March 5),#15 Colorado Mesa (March 17-19), New Mexico Highlands (March 31-April 2), and Northern Colorado (April 11, April 25). The full list of road series for Mines features #21 Cal Poly Pomona (Feb. 11-12), Cal State L.A. (Feb. 17-19), Northern Colorado (Feb. 21 (DH), April 19), CSU Pueblo (March 3, March 24-26), Colorado Christian (March 10-12), Adams State (April 6-8), and UCCS (May 5-6).

The Orediggers enter the 2023 season with fifth-year head coach
Robby Bales at the helm. Bales' 2022 squad finished the season 33-19 overall while going 17-15 in RMAC play. That mark tied Mines for #4 in the conference standings and resulted in the #5 seed for the RMAC Tournament. The Orediggers opened the tournament with a 4-0 win against second-seeded Regis before falling to MSU Denver and then-#10 Colorado Mesa. Luke Folsom tops the list of returners after leading the country in doubles in 2022 and earning NCBWA Third-Team All-America.
