DII CSCAA Top-25 Polls

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Swimming teams will both open their 2023-24 seasons nationally ranked with both teams sitting #22 in their respective DII CSCAA Top-25 Polls released Friday by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches' Association of America.

The preseason edition of the national list had Mines' men tallying 34 points for their spot at #22 with the women earning 38 points to sit #22. In comparison, the Oredigger women finished last season ranked #16 in the national polls with the men at #19. The polls are voted on by a committee consisting of Division II coaches and is meant to reflect the top dual meet teams in all of NCAA Division II. The national rankings are not meant to predict the top finishers in a championship meet format.

Topping the preseason national rankings were UIndy's men and Nova Southeastern's women. There were additional familiar faces from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) in the polls as well. On the men's list, Colorado Mesa was #3, Oklahoma Christian was #11, and Simon Fraser was #17. The women's rankings included Colorado Mesa at #2, Simon Fraser at #13, and Oklahoma Christian at #18. Last month, the RMAC preseason coaches' polls picked Colorado Mesa to sweep the conference titles. Mines' women were alone at #2 while the Oredigger men were tied for #2 with Oklahoma Christian and Simon Fraser. Those same two schools were tied for #3 in the women's preseason poll.

Mines swimming opens its season this weekend with a Saturday trip to CSU Pueblo. The Oredigger women will swim a tri meet against the ThunderWolves and Adams State. Mines' men will go head-to-head with the Grizzlies. A full preview for the season opener can be found at www.minesathletics.com.
