COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its final weekly award winners for women's soccer Tuesday afternoon and for the second time this season saw two members of the Colorado School of Mines women's soccer program honored, as
Natalie Rouse and
Sadie Wolf were named Defensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week respectively.
Rouse, who has now earned the honor five time this season, scored her six goal of the season and her second game-winner Thursday night in Grand Junction, connecting once again with
Ava Harman on a set piece and finishing off the pass with a header inside the near post to set the tone in a 4-0 win that saw her register three shots with one on goal while playing all 90 minutes to help anchor a shutout effort despite 18 shot attempts from CMU. Sunday against Westminster, she was in the mix again for all 90 minutes on offense with another shot on goal while also leading a stifling defensive effort in which the Griffins could muster just six shot attempts, marking the 16th time this season the Orediggers' defense has held an opponent to under 10 shots in a match.
Wolf takes home her first career weekly award following a weekend in which she recorded a pair of shutouts to match her single-season career high total of eight. The sophomore from Wildwood, Missouri posted four saves in the Orediggers 4-0 road win over then fourth-ranked Colorado Mesa before posting four more saves in the regular season finale over Westminster, directing another shutout in a 2-0 win. Wolf ended the regular season with a record of 12-2-2 with an RMAC-leading eight solo shutouts with a GAA of 0.44 and a 0.793 save rate, allowing just six goals against 23 saves and did not allow a goal in her final 803:57 minutes of action, dating back to September 24 at CSU Pueblo.
The Orediggers begin postseason play this Sunday at Stermole Stadium at 1 p.m. when they play host to the seven seed in this year's tournament, Fort Lewis.
