2023 CSC Academic All-America® Teams

AUSTIN, Texas – Following a fall in which he was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Player of the Year, junior striker Marc Zimmerman was announced Tuesday as a Second Team Academic All-America® selection by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

It is the first such honor for the junior from Orsingen-Nenzingen, Germany and comes following a breakout season in his second year with the Orediggers, as he finished second on the team with four goals along with two assists for 10 points. Zimmerman started 10 times in 17 matches for 833 minutes and scored in three of the first five matches of the season. He netted the game-winning goal in the second of two matches this season against Westminster on October 8 and recorded an assist in each of the final two matches of the season against MSU Denver and Colorado Christian. Zimmermann currently carries a 3.93 GPA in Electrical Engineering and becomes the sixth different men's soccer player to earn Academic All-America® honors since the 2018-19 season, while his Second Team selection is the 10th total selection from men's soccer during that period as well. He becomes the 173rd all-time honoree of the program from Mines, the most of any NCAA Division II institution and the 157th selection from Mines since 2010.
