Swimming Places Seven on Academic All-District Teams

2022-23 Academic All-District Teams

GOLDEN, Colo. –
The Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Swimming teams combined to place seven Orediggers on the College Sports Communicators' (CSC) Academic All-District teams announced Tuesday morning.
 
Charles Burroughs, Seth Krause, Jaron O'Grady, and Andres Saa earned the distinction for the Mines men. Annie Osmun, Jorie Selig, and Meghan Slowey were CSC Academic All-District for the women. All seven advance to the ballot for CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-America. Criteria for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District teams require honorees to be sophomores or above with a 3.5 or greater grade-point average (GPA), and be significant contributor to their team.
 
Burroughs, Krause, O'Grady, Saa, Osmun, and Selig are all first-time Academic All-District honorees. Slowey's selection marks the third of her career. In the pool, Burroughs, Krause, Osmun, Selig, and Slowey all punched tickets to the NCAA Division II Championships. All seven Orediggers combined to win 21 All-RMAC awards at the 2023 RMAC Swimming & Diving Championships. Slowey was the RMAC Champion in the 1650-free. Saa was also the RMAC Summit Award winner.
 
The final event of the season for the Orediggers will be the 2023 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships running March 7-11 in Indianapolis. A full preview and live coverage information of the event will be released the week leading up to the national meet at www.minesathletics.com.
