Lukas Taggart surged into the top five to lead Colorado School of Mines in the second round of the RMAC Men's Golf Championship at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
Taggart shot a three-under 69 to stay three shots off the lead and move up three spots to a tie for fifth as Mines was two-under for the day with a 286 to sit sixth through 36 holes.
Taggart mixed in five birdies against two bogies in a steady day to move up the leaderboard, while
Max Lange stayed in the top 20 with his seven-par 72 to be T18.
Jake Welch was also even par thanks to a birdie on the 17th to move up to T32, and
Ethan Adam was the fourth counting scorer at 73 as he is T37.
Carter Lolli was the non-counter despite a solid two-over 74, ending on a birdie, and he is T29.
Colorado Christian had a big Monday to jump over UCCS for the team lead, shooting 14-under-par to sit at -19, two shots ahead of the Mountain Lions. CSU Pueblo also went low with a -7 day to be at -13 in third place. Two CCU golfers top the leaderboard with Xavier Bighaus at -8 after a 65 and Adam Duncan at -8 with his 66; CCU's Dylan Arthur and UCCS's Brandon Bervig are tied for third at -6 a shot ahead of Taggart.
The Orediggers tee off the final round Tuesday beginning at 7:45 a.m. PT.
