GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines remains #2 in both major national polls this week as they improved to 4-0 with a 55-14 win at CSU Pueblo on Saturday.
The Orediggers handled their business in Pueblo while #1 Ferris State had a bye; it is the fifth straight week that Mines has been #2 in the AFCA coaches' poll and fourth in a row for the D2football.com media poll. Pitt State remained at #3 in both, while Minnesota State jumped Ouachita Baptist for the #4 spot in the AFCA top 25, but remained #5 behind Grand Valley State in the D2football.com poll.
Among Mines' 2023 opponents, Grand Valley State is #7/4, Angelo State is #20/19, and Western Colorado is #17/17. CSU Pueblo, which was receiving votes in the AFCA Top 25, dropped out entirely while Black Hills State is receiving votes this week.
The Orediggers return to Marv Kay Stadium for Homecoming this Saturday, hosting Chadron State at noon.
