College Golf Ranking Scoreboard
GOLDEN, Colo. - Led by
Lukas Taggart and
Max Lange inside the top 50, Colorado School of Mines is ranked #19 in the first edition of the College Golf Rankings released by Clippd.
The new rankings, which replace the GolfStat computer ratings system, put the Orediggers sixth in the South Central Region and 19th nationally in NCAA Division II after their strong fall season. Meanwhile, Taggart appears at #24 and Lange #48 in the individual D-II rankings as the duo led the Orediggers through their five fall tournaments.
The new College Golf Ranking System represents an overhaul from the previous GolfStat rankings, using a transparent system similar to the World Amateur Golf Ranking. The system takes into account stroke differential, and points are awarded based on strokes gained in each event with a premium on better finishes. Through five events, Mines has an averaged weighted points mark of 28.25, with Taggart earning an average of 27.15 thanks to a 71.1 scoring average and two top-threes, and Lange 21.46 on an average of 70.9 as well as two top-threes.
The Orediggers resume the season March 3-5 when they take part in the Las Vegas Desert Classic at Boulder Creek in Nevada.
