2024 Baseball Schedule
 
GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines Baseball team will open the 2024 season one week from today, on Friday, Jan. 2, at the Mike Dugan Collegiate Baseball Invitational in Hot Springs, Ark.
 
The invitational opens a 2024 slate that features 49 games with 21 home contests, 17 non-conference games and 32 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference showdowns. Mines first weekend features a matchup with Arkansas Monticello on Friday at 4 p.m. (CT). The Orediggers then play Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State on Saturday at 12 p.m. (CT) and 3 p.m. (CT), respectively. The weekend closes with a showdown against #17-ranked Southern Arkansas.
 
Mines' home opener is a contest against Minot State on Saturday, March 2, at 12 p.m. That comes after additional road trips to Emporia State, Cal State San Marcos and Concordia Irvine. Conference play begins on Friday, March 8, with Colorado Christian coming to Jim Darden Field. After the four-game series with CCU, the Orediggers play at #8 Colorado Mesa for their RMAC road openers. A homestand with CSU Pueblo in Golden is followed by a journey to New Mexico Highlands. Adams State comes to Jim Darden Field April 5-7. Mines then plays eight straight games away from home at Regis and MSU Denver before closing the season back in Golden against UCCS.
 
The Orediggers enter the 2024 season with sixth-year head coach Robby Bales at the helm. Bales' 2023 squad finished the season 22-25 overall while going 17-15 in RMAC play. That mark tied Mines for #4 in the conference standings and resulted in the #5 seed for the RMAC Tournament. The Orediggers fell to Regis and Colorado Mesa during the 2024 postseason. Coach Bales returns 22 veteran players from last season including seven starters in the batting lineup and three starting pitchers.
