ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Saturday's Lewis XC Crossover was all Orediggers as the Colorado School of Mines men and women swept the team titles and
Jenna Ramsey-Rutledge raced to her second individual gold of the season.
Â
Ramsey-Rutledge churned out a 20:38.46, her fastest 6K time of the season and more than 11 seconds faster than silver medalist Kendall Kramer of Alaska. The Kansas native fueled a women's team score of 69 to top a list of 32 programs with at least five entries. It bested second-place and host Lewis by a margin of 45 points.
Ethan Grolnic anchored the men's squad by finishing the 8K course third overall in 23:52.39, less than six seconds out of a silver medal and under 15 seconds behind first-place finisher Ryan Hartman of Augustana. Grolnic's bronze set the stage for a men's team score of 62 which was #1 in a field of 36 teams with at least five finishers. Second place in the team standings went to Western Washington which totaled 123 points. All results came in a massive field that featured 16 men's teams and 12 women's teams that are either nationally ranked or receiving votes.
