NABC Preseason Rankings
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) released its preseason rankings ahead of the 2024-25 season Tuesday and after being tabbed as the RMAC favorites last week, the Colorado School of Mines men's basketball team will take the court in their season opener ranked #8 in the Top 25.
The Orediggers posted a 24-9 mark and went 17-5 in RMAC action last season, advancing to the RMAC semifinals and the First Round of the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship and were ranked as high as #10 last season among their frequent appearances in the Top 25.
Defending national champions Minnesota State earned 10 first place ballots and lead the rankings followed by perennial power and runner up Nova Southeastern with six first place votes. West Texas A&M, Minnesota State Moorhead and Dallas Baptist round out the top five in the preseason poll.
Fellow RMAC members Colorado Mesa and Fort Lewis, both of whom enter the season with new head coaches, also appeared in the rankings at #21 and #22 respectively. Opening night opponent Lubbock Christian and MSU Denver did receive votes while not appearing in the preliminary Top 25.
The first regular season rankings will be announced on November 19.
Mines opens their season at Lockridge Arena with regional crossover action against Lubbock Christian and St. Mary's (TX) Friday November 8 and Saturday November 9. Both matches will tip-off at 7 p.m.
