ALAMOSA, Colo. –The Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Swimming teams put together a successful weekend of racing at Adams State with dual wins on Friday night, a men's dual win on Saturday, and a tri-meet victory including CSU Pueblo for the women on Saturday as well.

Friday's scores were 150-33 for the men and 148-30 for the women in head-to-head action against the Grizzlies. Saturday saw the men topple ASU again, 161-34. The women were also victorious with a 143-41 margin against Adams State and a 137-58 advantage against CSU Pueblo. Between the men and women, Orediggers had the fastest time in all but three events across the two days of racing and broke multiple facility record.

First-place finishes on Friday started with the women's 400-medley relay made up of
Kerrigan Hemp,
Cameryn Schmidt,
Sophia Buhr, and
Emi Jedryka.
Luca Burns,
Gavin Gilmore,
Michael Kietzman, and
Jakson Winn did the same in the men's relay. After that, it was
Isabella Bono and
Lucas Hoke in an unscored 1000-free followed by
Kylie VanderMeer and
Ronan Lauinger in the 200-free. Lena Brown won the women's 50-free for Adams State before the Orediggers ran off 15 straight first-place finishes to close the evening. Those gold medalists were Winn (50-free),
Jennifer Pierson (200-IM), Gilmore (200-IM), Buhr (200-fly),
Jaron O'Grady (200-fly), VanderMeer (100-free),
Brenden Cook (100-free), Jedryka (200-back),
Luca Burns (200-back),
Eden Addison (500-free), Lauinger (500-free),
Ava Burger (200-breast), Gilmore (200-breast), and both 200-freestyle relay teams featuring Pierson,
Abby Swanson,
Jordan Tierney and VanderMeer for the women with
Sawyer Jones, Winn,
Luca Burns, and Kietzman racing for the men.

On Saturday, Jedryka, Tierney, VanderMeer, and Swanson started off with gold in the 200-medley relay.
Luca Burns, Gilmore, Kietzman, and Winn matched the finish in the men's relay.
Maggie Wells and
Vladislav Kazakin won the 1000-free. Pierson and O'Grady struck for Mines in the 200-free. It was gold as well for
Sophia Cristal and
Sawyer Jones in the 50-free races. The 400-IM saw Paola C Wu finish first for CSU Pueblo's women before Lauinger put the Orediggers on top of the podium in the men's edition. The 100-fly resulted with VanderMeer and
Luca Burns touching the wall first. Pierson and
Kevin Burns were winners in the 100-free. Jedryka and Winn continued Mines' roll in the 100-back.
Julie Gill and Kazakin kept the Orediggers' at the forefront in the 500-free. The 100-breast brought Tierney another first-place finish. Adams State's Mohamed Abujiba won the men's race. Pierson, Cristal, Swanson and VanderMeer capped the women's weekend with gold in the 400-freestyle relay. Winn, Jones,
Luca Burns, and Kietzman made it a sweep in the men's relay.

Also notable on the weekend were multiple collegiate debuts. In the men's first official meet of the regular season,
Brenden Cook,
Sawyer Jones,
Vladislav Kazakin,
Cameron MacMillan, and
Lucas Waasdorp all competed for the first time in an Oredigger suit.
Eden Addison made her collegiate debut on the women's side.

The next action for Mines' men will be a dual at Colorado College on Friday, Nov. 8. The Oredigger women return to competitive racing at the TYR/CMU Invitational hosted by Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction, Colo., Nov. 20-23.
