United Soccer Coaches Week 9 Top 25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The ninth regular season rankings from the United Soccer Coaches Association were released on Tuesday and following a pair of home wins over the weekend to put a cap on an unbeaten regular season, the Colorado School of Mines women's soccer team remained the number one team in Division II for the sixth consecutive week.

Mines (17-0-1, 11-0-1) posted a pair of 3-0 wins over the weekend against the #18 Colorado Mesa and Westminster Friday night and Sunday afternoon. Friday Cloey Seltzer stole the show with two goals while Ellise Putnam added one in between in a match that had all the feel of a postseason preview. Allie Lundgren spun her eighth shutout of the season in the win, making four saves. Sunday saw Laura Butler, Bella Campos and Seltzer all score as the defense turned in another fine effort, holding the Griffins to just six shots with two on goal as Lundgren and Sadie Wolf combined for the shutout.

There was no change to the top five once again this week as Columbus State, Ashland, Cal Poly Pomona and Gannon held firm behind the Orediggers. Colorado Mesa remained at #18 this week while MSU Denver earned votes once more.

Having clinched the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season title with their win Sunday, Mines will await their opponent in the tournament semifinals on November 13.
