Midwest Classic Saturday Results
INDIANAPOLIS - Eight Orediggers advanced to Sunday, including four into the quarterfinals, as #18 Colorado School of Mines began competition at the 45th Midwest Classic at UIndy on Saturday.

Wyatt Reisz, and
Laith Ibrahim remain alive on the consolation side of their brackets. The Orediggers are seventh in the elite field with 41.5 team points, with Central Oklahoma setting the lead pace at 51.5.
DiBlasi is into the 141-pound quarterfinals after a 2-0 start, majoring Montevallo's Chad Strickland 11-1 before edging UMary's Sean Solis 2-1. DiBlasi will face #4 Ronan Schuelke of McKendree in the quarters.
Top-seeded Thompson cruised into the 149-pound quarterfinals, beating Tiffin's Emilio Arellano 19-10 before pinning Limestone's Brandon Seawright in the first period. Thompson will face Gannon's Kenny Kiser in the quarterfinals.
Caro made a statement at 157 pounds as the freshman beat #10 John Ridle of Central Missouri, 7-1, to advance to the quarters. That came after an 8-0 major against East Stroudsburg's Gavin Reynolds on a day in which Caro did not give up an offensive point. He will face American International's Tommy Nichols in the quarters.
Cody went 2-0 to make the 197-pound finals, throwing Upper Iowa's Geoffrey Freeman into a pin at 5:52, then upsetting #7 Wyatt Miller of Grand Valley State with three takedowns in a 10-1 major decision. Cody will wrestle Newberry's #10 John Parker-Wilson to start on Sunday.
At 125 pounds, Lopez went 2-1 on the day with both of his wins coming via major decision. Lopez beat Upper Iowa's Jackson Heaston 14-2 to start before losing to #4 Shane Corrigan of UW-Parkside 8-0; Lopez bounced back with a 13-2 major over Drury's Bryson Humphries to stay alive.
Moreno went 3-1 at 133 pounds, with his lone loss coming by a single point, 6-5, to Adams State's Adam Concepcion. Moreno impressed in his wins, earning a 17-1 tech fall to start the day before recording major decisions, 11-3 and 11-0, over King's Alex Fernandez and Newman's Jevin Foust.
Reisz lost his opening match in a 3-1 tiebreak setback to Chadron State's Logan Berger, but charged back to win three straight bouts and stay alive at 174. Reisz's wins included a 10-0 major over Mount Olive's Colby Teague and decisions over UW-Parkside's Crosby Schlosser and Colorado Mesa's Gus Dalton.
Ibrahim had a similar path on Saturday, overcoming a first-round loss to go 3-1 on the day and remain alive. Ibrahim was caught on a first-period pin by Newberry's Kale Schrader, but bounced back to beat Western Colorado's Riley Dean-Butt by fall, Mount Olive's Slade Watkins 9-4, and Lander's Isaac Sheeren 2-1.
Jakob Smith went 2-2 at 165 pounds before bowing out, earning a win by fall; both of his losses came to ranked foes as he hung in on decisions against #2 Cory Peterson of McKendree and #13 Trent Mahoney of King.
Mason Diel was 1-2 at 184 pounds, losing to #2 Matt Weinberg of Kutztown before dropping out of the tournament on a pin by Calan Staub of Mount Olive.
Sunday's final day of competition begins at 9:30 a.m. ET.
