GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The 2024 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships began on Tuesday evening with the Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Swimming teams combining to score four relay teams.

The only event of opening night was the 800-freestyle relay. Mines' men and women swept fourth in the "A" finals while racing two in "B" finals to bolster the Orediggers' team score. For the women,
Olivia Kisow,
Annie Osmun,
Maggie Wells, and
Kylie VanderMeer teamed up to stop the clock at 7:37.24. Additionally,
Sophia Buhr,
Emi Jedryka,
Zooecia Phoebus,
Isabella Bono posted a 7:49.93 for 12th-place points.
Ronan Lauinger,
Michael Kietzman,
Jaron O'Grady, and
Lucas Hoke led Mines' men with a 6:47.79.
Gavin Moore,
Gavin Gilmore,
Braden Hunt, and
Andres Saa also finished 12th in 6:55.33.

Team scores after one session of swimming have the Oredigger women tied for third thanks to 48 points. Mines' men are fourth with 40 points. Colorado Mesa's men and women are both in first.
