GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines wrapped up its dual season with a lopsided win, beating Simon Fraser 47-4 at Volk Gym on Senior Night.

The Orediggers (8-2, 6-2 RMAC) will end up in second place in the RMAC as they now set their sights to the postseason. Prior to the match, Mines honored its two seniors, 157-pounder Daniel Caddy and 184-pounder Levi Farris, as they wrestled for the final time at Volk Gym.

Mines won nine of 10 bouts and earned bonus points in eight of those victories as they handled the Red Leafs (3-9, 0-8 RMAC) from the start. Christian Lopez and Trebor Moreno each earned victories by fall to start things off at 125 and 133, respectively, before SFU forfeited at 141 and 149 to hand Mines a 24-0 lead. SFU's only victory came at 157 where Magnus McCrackin defeated Caddy 15-3, but things rolled back in Mines' favor quickly thanks to Tristin David's second-period pin.

At 174, Wyatt Reisz outlasted a tough Peter McCrackin 7-2, and Farris broke open a close 8-6 bout in the third period with a six-point throw to beat Owen Gundmundson 15-6 at 184. Ryan Cody had three first-period takedowns at 197 before Sam Pereira was forced to retire due to injury.

Laith Ibrahim capped off the dual with the biggest win of his young career, stunning Taniela Feliciano-Takafua in a 12-2 major decision. Feliciano-Takafua is #8 in this week's OpenMat Division II ranked, and they were tied 1-1 in the third period before an explosive takedown by Ibrahim turned into seven points, and another late in the period earned him a major decision. 

Prior to the dual, Simon Fraser wrestled Chadron State with CSC winning 37-11; Mines also wrestled two exhibition bouts against Chadron State wrestlers with Grayston DiBlasi defeating Cyrus Wells in a 20-3 technical fall at 141, and Reese Jacobs topping Deandre Rucker 11-2 in a 197-pound extra.
