COLORADO SPRINGS – Ben Schoneman was named RMAC Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday after his performance for the Colorado School of Mines Baseball team in their 2024 opener.
 
Schoneman earned the first weekly award of his career after his start against Arkansas Monticello last Friday at the Mike Dugan Collegiate Baseball Invitational in Hot Springs, Ark. The redshirt senior tossed 5.0 innings of one-hit, shutout baseball, but did not factor in the decision. He struck out four batters and walked one. With Schoneman on the mound, the Boll Weevils were held to .067 at the plate. Unfortunately for the graduate student, the final score of the game was 7-4 in favor of UAM. MSU Denver's Zach Schuler voted RMAC Player of the Week as well.
 
Early season action continues for Mines this weekend as the Orediggers head to Kansas for a four-game set at Emporia State. Action begins Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. (CT). There will be a doubleheader Saturday starting at 12 p.m. (CT) with the finale on Sunday at 12 p.m. (CT).
