Orediggers Selected to NCAA Tournament Field

INDIANAPOLIS –
The Colorado School of Mines Women's Basketball team earned a berth in the NCAA tournament after hearing their name called during the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday night.
 
It marks the fourth straight selection for the Orediggers as they claimed the #8 seed in the South Central Region. They'll face top-seeded and #9-ranked Texas Woman's in the first round of the region tournament. Mines and TWU will face off in Denton, Texas. The winner will face whoever prevails between fourth-seeded Texas Permian Basin and fifth-seeded Adams State.
 
On the other side of the bracket, Colorado Mesa earned the #2 seed and will face seventh-seeded Lubbock Christian. That victor takes on the winner between third-seeded Regis and sixth-seeded UT Tyler. Game dates, times, ticket information, and coverage details will be announced early this week at www.minesathletics.com.
 
Mines enters the national tournament with an overall record of 21-8. The Orediggers finished fifth in the RMAC's regular season standings. They dropped out of the conference tournament in the first round on a 71-65 loss to fourth-seeded UCCS. Overall, it marks Mines' sixth NCAA tournament bid in program history. The Orediggers earned national postseason berths in 2010, 2016, 2021, 2022, and 2023. They were the #1 seed in the West Region in 2021.
