GENEVA, Ohio – The Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Swimming teams both scored team points on Thursday at the 2024 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships thanks to a trio of all-American finishes.

Annie Osmun, Ronan Lauinger, Kerrigan Hemp, Jordan Tierney, and Jorie Selig all earned Second-Team All-America status on Thursday evening. Osmun's recognition came in the 100-fly and as part of the 400-medley relay. Lauinger earned his accolade in the 400-IM. Hemp, Tierney, and Selig made up the remaining three legs of the relay. The finishes for the women gave Mines 13 points and pushed the Orediggers to 26th in the team standings. Lauinger collected two points for the men and moved Mines to 30th overall.

Morning prelims started with Osmun's 55.19 in the 100-fly which put her inside the top-16 and into the evening finals. It marked her first trip to NCAA finals in her career. Right after Osmun, Charles Burroughs raced in the men's 100-fly and tied for 33rd in the nation thanks to a time of 48.79. Next for the Orediggers was the men's 400-IM which started a double-dip for Lauinger. The 400-IM prelims saw the Virginia native stop the clock at 3:53.49. That broke his own program record of 3:55.76 and also sent him to the evening session. Lauinger rounded out prelims for Mines by competing in the 200-free. There he touched the wall at 1:40.90 to finish 36th in all of NCAA Division II.

In the evening, Osmun was the leadoff again for the Orediggers. She churned out a 54.78 in the 100-fly finals for a 12th-place national finish – the best of her career. Lauinger followed in the 400-IM and took 15th thanks to a time of 3:55.19. His pace would have broken the program record if not for the time in prelims. It also marked the first all-American finish of Lauinger's career. Hemp, Tierney, Osmun, and Selig closed the day for Mines. They entered the race seeded 17th and teamed up to finish 13th at a 3:44.68 clip. The performance gave each member of the quartet their second straight all-American finish in the exact same event after taking 14th in 2023.

Racing for Mines at the NCAA championships continues Friday morning at 10 a.m. (ET) with prelims in the 500-free, 100-breast, and 200-fly. Joseph Lev-Tov, Cameryn Schmidt, Burroughs, Lauinger, and Tierney will all be in action for the Orediggers.
