GENEVA, OhioJordan Tierney climbed the national podium for the Orediggers on Friday as the Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Swimming teams closed out their third day at the 2024 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships.

Tierney took her steps after claiming national bronze in the women's 100-breast. Her finish was good enough for First-Team All-America status. It marks the best finish for an Oredigger woman since Mia Wood's 1000-free silver in 2020. Mines found additional all-American finishes from Ronan Lauinger in the 500-free and Charles Burroughs in the 200-fly. Heading into the final day of racing, the Oredigger women are 24th in the team standings thanks to 29 points. Mines' men are 31st overall thanks to six points.

The Orediggers' day started with Lauinger's appearance in the men's 500-free. He stopped the clock at 4:27.05. That broke his own program record by more than three seconds and sent him to the evening finals seeded #11. True freshman Joseph Lev-Tov also raced in the 500-free and finished 39th in the nation thanks to a time of 4:35.91.

National action continued in 100-back prelims before Mines rejoined the fray in the women's 100-breast. It was there that Tierney took down the program record in the 50-breast and 100-breast while giving herself the #3 seed in Friday's finals. The Delaware native earned her spot in finals with a prelims time of 1:01.73 including a 50-breast split of 28.89. Her overall pace broke her own program record. Tierney's 50-breast split broke the mark of teammate Cameryn Schmidt set earlier this season. Schmidt also raced in the 100-breast – her NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships debut – and finished 22nd in the nation thanks to a time of 1:04.44. Then, Charles Burroughs' 1:47.68 in the 200-fly rounded out the morning prelims and sent the Oredigger graduate student into finals as the #14 seed.

Evening action started with Lauinger again. He touched the wall at 4:28.24 and finished 14th in the nation. It marked his second all-America finish of the meet and of his career. Tierney added to action in finals for Mines by finishing third in the nation. She posted a time of 1:01.95, just her second sub-1:02 mark of the season. The night ended with Burroughs' final collegiate race. He finished 16th in the nation for his third-ever Second-Team All-America finish in the 200-fly.

Mines closes its trip to the 2024 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday with  Annie Osmun swimming the 100-free, Tierney in the 200-breast, and Joseph Lev-Tov in the 1650-free. Free live video and live results will be linked at www.minesathletics.com and on social media.
